Thuthiqut food forest /5th and Princess site.

On Earth-day SECA ( South End Community Association) hosted a clean-up event in our neighbourhood. A Big thank-you to everyone who came out and got dirty with us. A MASSIVE amount of trash has been collected especially between the row between Princess and Columbia behind the Thuthiqut ( THoo- THi -Cut) forest that runs along the railroad. It turns out that this was a prized dump site for many years. To access this treasure trove of trash we have made a series of trails, cutting down the thick brambles of blackberries. This has opened up the space and some folks have voiced concerns that it may foster some undesirable activities. There will be a community planning meeting scheduled to determine the best course of action to ensure the safety and security of all the neighbours, as well as how to we envision the space in the future.

Community planning meeting is TBA, keep checking back. Your input is appreciated.
